U-Skills STAR Vet Nursing Taster

This course gives you complete practical activities that are common in everyday vet practices.

Delivered on Fridays from 9am - 3pm.

• Basic animal care
• Basic control and restraint
• Basic grooming
• Confidentiality and professional issues

For year 11 - 13 secondary school learners (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or learners with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.

Successful completion of the UCOL STAR Vet Nursing Taster course is the first step in a journey. Equipped with new skills and a taste for the industry, you will know what you need to do to pursue a career as a vet nurse.

• Academy 2 Day New Zealand Certificate in Animal Care

• New Zealand Certificate in Animal Technology (Vet Nursing Assistant) Level 5

• New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing Level 6

Fees-free for learners. Upon successful application, your school will pay UCOL a fee.
