Overview

This programme will teach you the electrical principles of basic magnetism and electromagnetism, basic understanding of electrical and electronic components, electrical mathematics and calculations, electrical circuit concepts, designing and the manufacture of an electronic project; all the while being carefully shown how to operate within a safe working environment.

Whanganui - Fridays, 9am - 3pm

Course Information

This programme comprises 23 credits.

Unit Standard 21719 (Level 2) (Version 3) (3 Credits)

Remove and replace lamp on a motor vehicle.

Unit Standard 32606 (Level 3) (Version 1) (5 Credits)

Tools, fittings and plans in electrical industry.

Unit Standard 24350 (Level 2) (Version 3) (6 Credits)

Select, use and maintain portable power tools for BCATS projects.

Unit Standard 32613 (Level 3) (Version 1) (4 Credits)

Demonstrate Knowledge of cords, cables and cable insulation.

Unit Standard 18239 (Level 2) (Version 8) (5 Credits)

Demonstrate Knowledge of circuit concepts and measurements.

Domestic Entry Requirements

For year 11 - 13 secondary school learners (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or learners with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.
